Looking fly, whilst breaking a sweat

Updated: Dec 20, 2020

We all know what it's like when you're planning on going to the gym, but you trying to find an outfit that is acceptable by gym-goers standards and you just can't find a solution. I have definitely been there, which is probably why I like to workout in the comfort of my own home. But being at uni, my room isn't exactly designed to accommodate workout sessions, (though I tend to find a way that somehow works).

Usually my gym 'style' is: a cheap pair of leggings or my old school skort, sports bra and a scrappy top I don't mind getting all sweaty and yucky in, exhibit A (pic to left).

But recently, as gym wear has started to become 'street' wear, (as seen on any and everybody famous or not) I've decided to have a go and see what looks good on me. The one thing on my mind though is ££££. Do I really need to spend my money on gym clothes? If you're anything like me, you're going to be sweating like a pig and trying to stay on your feet before your legs give way! But on the other hand, at least for me, when I look good, I feel good, I feel confident, so if I'm going to workout, then I should feel confident! If we're keeping it real, I'll take anything that'll help me get through my workout sessions!!

I'm not in London at the moment and my choice of shops is very limited where I am but I found a couple of items that seemed pretty decent, and now I find that my interests has significantly peaked in getting outfits that match from head to toe, I haven't reached that point yet, but that is the plan. So here it goes, my first step towards conforming to the 'unspoken gym rules'.

This is the start of my journey, (if you can even call it that), next time you see me, I'll be sporting all Nike, whilst trying to not look like one of those girls who wore Jack Wills head to toe back in 2011, though if that was you...we all make mistakes, right?

In all seriousness, it's quite nice having set gym attire,

I just have to check myself on how often I'm whipping out the good ole credit card.

On a side-note, I guess what they say about university is true, one does not simply 'get a degree', you also become a cook, your own accountant, your own maid, a nurse (on some disastrous nights out) and even a lecturer (if you know, you know). Well at least while I'm doing all this, I'll be wearing some really cool workout gear! If only that could solve every problem, if only...

Until next time,

stylishly yours,
