Jheeze these Jeans!

20.08.2017

The amount of time I've spent trying on different pairs of jeans is actually ridiculous. I still haven't found a pair that just makes me go 'dayyuuumm!' Now, I know I am not the only one who runs into problems when they go to buy a pair of jeans. At one point or another you have had at least one of these problems, and if you say you haven't...

Anyways, in the past I've bought jeans from Gap, Primark, River Island, New Look and Topshop. And apart from my gap jeans from 2008, which no longer fit, none of them seem to last that long. Now one reason for this could be because I wear jeans almost everywhere. Ok thinking about it now, that is probably the reason why my jeans never last that long, then there's the problem of having thick thighs. And let's not forget the 'I have a butt and an average size waist' problem. And this is one of my issue when it comes to buying jeans, I feel like most brands make jeans for girls with a so called 'pert derrière' which is basically just code for girls with no butts. And that's fine if you belong to itty bitty booty society, love the skin you're in, I just feel like brands shouldn't make clothes for just 1 body type.

The only brand I've heard of that I know consciously tries to not do that is Fashionova, but I'm a little bit skeptical as I am yet to see a pair in real life rather than through a sponsored post on Instagram. And I'm not too comfortable with ordering jeans online, I need to try it on in-store and do the 'right fit test'

Then there's always the issue of getting the right leg length, now my legs aren't exactly Naomi Campbell's, but most of the time, I find that I have to dip my hand in the tall section, (I'm not even that tall). I find that jeans are either too short or they have a tad too much extra material which forces me to hoist the jeans up a weenie bit higher. It's not that big of an issue, but I really do wish that I could have certain things tailor made for my body. Wouldn't life just be so much easier?

One of my favourite types of jeans are skinny jeans, but as much as I love them, I don't always want to wear such constricting clothes, I really want a good pair of boyfriend jeans (perfectly rocked by Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah and Janet Jackson).

When I try to find a pair like these, all they seem to have on offer are straight jeans, which in my books, are not, nor shall they ever be, boyfriend jeans.

I love ripped jeans too, I had to get myself to stop buying them at one point, mom jeans are alright too, let's just say I love jeans.

Quick question: how do people feel about double denim? I'm really interested to know, because for every one person I see pull it off, I see 20 others just crashing and burning. I've never tried it, maybe I should, steer me right people, help a girl out!
